What would make the C2D even better?
Adjustable C/V. That is my only real knock on the Nord organ sound. The C/V is very strong and too much to the Vib side. I am sure they probably modeled it after a late model A100, and those organs had a very strong chorus. I have an A100 that I put a variable resistor in and have been able to dial back the C/V to more of a late 50s B3 vibe. I really wish they could add this functionality in an update. Hammond just did with the SK2. If Nord could do this, the C2D would be the hands-down winner vs. Hammond.

I'm in a wise-ass mood tonight (see other posts from this time frame), so I can't resist:
how about a spill-proof place to put my beer?

I'm pretty sure that there is absolutely no difference between the A100 chorus and the B3 chorus section.
The sonic differences between individual consoles due to component tolerances and aging, however, are astounding.

Look, I kept on screaming about that, that the C2D had no place to put a food a drink or an ashtray. But nobody listened. Drawbars, drawbars, drawbars, that's all anybody cared about. Well, you can push your drawbars in and out all day, but it doesn't do much good if you're so famished you can't play!
Okay, got it. The music stand should be modified to include a cup-holder and plate-rest. Just off to the side, but in easy reach.

Anybody who puts an open beverage on top of ANY of my keyboards will find it either on the floor or hurled at him.

Re: What would make the C2D even better?
In reality, I'm with analogika. I would never put a drink or food on any instrument. The Micheal Jackson commercial where he puts a Pepsi on a grand piano was very disappointing.
But I can't see any objection to adding a cup-holder or plate-platform to a music or microphone stand. Or maybe some kind of a trough, if the hands are occupied.

Quite, and the B3 was a far longer running model. I think the A100 was discontinued in the late sixties and the B3 limped on until about 1974.
You wonder if the difference between individual consoles is as about the same as a console vs a clone these days. It can't be far off, but by the same token probably the case that the difference is one that halves, and halves, but never quite gets there.
I've just ordered a C2D to replace my A100 for all but recording and special occasions. I didn't even bother checking out the subtle differences between the clones, because it's all too little to argue over IMO.
