The only thing I really miss from my ond B3 is the way the switches were configured. First of all, the switches for percussion are way too small and of the wrong type. The large flip type on the B3 are in a completely different league. Secondly, on the vibrato, there is this stepwise circular operation. It is completely impossible to change in any kind of reliable way while playing. The reverb is as bad but there I cannot really complain since that function is missing completely on the B3. If Nord produce a new version of C2D with B3 style switches, I would buy it just to get an instrument that not only sounds like a rean B3 but that can be played like one too. This is about the only complaint I have about an otherwise fantastic organ but it is a rather serious complaint for anyone who is used to the original B3 and it is hard to understand why Nord did not design this in a proper way when the rest is so good. My only guess is that they never really involved anyone used to playing the B3 which is a real pity.

I recently got my C2D, and I'm really happy with it. Interface, drawbars etc., the layout of buttons and drawbars makes total sense. The sound quality is also very good. Some harpsichord samples is actually a great idea, that would be proper upgrade to the C2D. However, the real hammond sound still has a bit more weight and chunkiness to it IMO, and the overdrive can always be improved even further. That said, Clavia did a fine job with C2D, I couldn't imagine buying any other clone on the market right now.

I would like an option to send the output from a piano module or drum machine through the C2D and out the stereo outputs instead of the headphone jack. Don't know if a software change could accomplish this, or if something would need to be rewired internally - but my Casio PX-3 lets you do this, and it's pretty darned convenient (no need for a mixer if your amp only has one pair of stereo inputs).

Multiple inout re-routing would be great, to be sure, but the thing that REALLY annoys me is the slapdash implementation of most of the accessories.

The half-moon switch should just plug into the front of the keyboard - no wires, no mess. Similarly, the pedalboard should use one wire from it to the console. There are two spare pins on a 5-pin DIN plug which would allow power to be sent from the console to the pedals, without preventing the use of other pedals if desired.

I'm not thrilled by the C2D official stand - it's lovely to put the keyboard on but it's a sod to put up and take down in a dark theatre. Because of that and the need for the stupid wall-wart with the pedals I generally don't use any pedals at all when I'm gigging - fortunately usually with a bass player of some sort - instead of all that palaver.

All those features would add a maybe 1-2% to the cost, but transform the usability, for me at any rate. And I dare say it wouldn't be impossible to design a music stand that folds down over the back of the console, sits up at half-height if you don't need to support a lot of music (and could have a big 'Nord' logo facing the audience) and goes double that height to make a rest like the one we have to slot in manually, and which still doesn't quite hold 4 A4 sheets like you need in shows fairly often.

I accept the music stand issue doesn't affect everybody, but it could be really elegant if nicely implemented.
