Volume Control for external Midi-Device

Post by michael3 »

The Volume of my C2 is controlled by a Yamaha FC-7 Pedal.
System-Menu 9 set to "YA")
As the Swellpedal-Output sends Mididata (Controller 04) I should be able to
control the Volume of my Roland-Modul "Fantom XR" with that same Pedal.
Unfortunately this does not work! It works well with other Keyboards, but not with
the C2. Can anyone help?

Roland probably uses either controller 9 or 11. Unless you can program the C2D to send that instead of 4, then you are likely out of luck. Looking at the manual, I don't think you can. You would likely need to put some sort of Midi mapping/translating software or device between the C2D and the Roland Sound Module.

I use Bome SW for this type of thing (although I have neither a C2D or Roland Fantom XR.

Thanks for your advice. The Fantom XR has such a Midi-Matrix for Controllers, so my source would be controller 4,
destination would be 7 for the Volume or 11 for expression.
Unfortunately it still doesn't work.
I tried my FC-7 with the "Kingkorg". This Synth also sends the Pedalmessage with controller 04 and it worked perfectly.
Therefore I think the C2 is the problem. I also sent a message to the Clavia-Support, may be they know the problem.
