The New Clones

Post by Farfisameister »

I'm thinking about trying to sell my Nord C2 (C2D upgrade) in light of the two newer clones out there. I am loyal to Nord, and have a Stage 2 EX too, but I think the C2 (C2D) may have been surpassed. Namely, the Crumar Mojo, the new Viscount Legend, and the Viscount Live. The Crumar is approximately $2300.00 and the Viscount Live is about $2400.00. These organs sound incredible on the demos with very nice Leslie sims. Plus, the layout on the Viscount organs is very much like the B3 console. What do you think a C2 is worth and does anyone have any experience with the Crumar Mojo organs? The Viscount may be too new probably for anyone to have played one.

Hello
You already have a very good clone. Did you think to add the Neo Vent to replace the C2 leslie sim ?
You would save a lot of money :-)

Regards

Actually, I have a Leslie 3300 which I use with the organ when gig space permits.

I havé the same, C2 updated with the C2D engine and two Océan Beach Drawbars and I think it's awesome...I don't feel the need the change, what makes you thinking of doing it?

I have a Mojo and an Electro 4D. For me, the Mojo is way better / more authentic than the Electro 4D. Checkout the keyboard forum for reviews on the Legend. At least one person has the Mojo and Legend. Having read his review I'm sticking with Mojo because I love the light action and it's been reported that the Legend action is somewhat stiff.

Just thinking, if I could sell the C2 for the right amount, then, and only then, would I sell it. There's a subjective lack of oganicity (for lack of a better word and no pun intended) for me with the C2 even thru a Leslie. Still, I have gigged with It a lot in the past and the C2 is extremely well-built and dependable as are all Nords I've had. Sounds like the Mojo may be a step up in sound however.

You are not proper Farfisa meister :-) only Nord has a Farfisa simulation. The other clones do not have it.

That is true. And the combo organs on the C2 are better than anything out there IMO. Have a Continental and a Gibson G-101 (not in the Nord) and both have issues. Not so with the Nord.

I remember the Mojo had a Farfisa or something like that in it? Or am I wrong? Had a Mojo for 2 years and sold it for a HX3 board, the Uhl X3-2. Another world.....it even has a 11pin out for the Leslie....but no Farfisa.

I think the Mojo has transistor models (Vox and Farfisa). What is the HX3? Are you referring to the Hammond XK3C? Not sure what the Uhl X3-2 is either.
BTW I have read some bad reviews on the Mojo especially in regard to build quality. One said it had great tone if you can keep it in the studio but as a piece of hardware unreliable if you're gigging with it.
