Hi everyone,
I bought a used C2 organ this summer. It is a fine machine which is in very good shape. I don't know if some of you are like me but I always try to get the Service Manual (some call it the Repair Manual) for every piece of musical gear that I own, just to be on the safe side. That way, in case of a technical problem years from now (and if the company doesn't exist or support some of its machines anymore), the Service Manual can be very handy.
With that in mind, I wrote to the Canadian distributor (I live in Canada) a few months ago hoping to get or buy such a manual (I didn't contact Clavia directly because they say on their website that such matters must be handled by their distributors) . The Canadian distributor said they would look into it but I never got any answer, either positive or negative, since then. They never answered my other emails neither. Does someone know if such a manual is available? Or I am asking for some kind of secret document that only the Clavia authorized service centers are allowed to have?
Thanks for any help

Re: Service Manual for the C2 ?
Hello Mikepha,
Welcome to the forums!
Congratulations on your purchase of the C2 it's an awesome instrument.
I'd be inclined to say that Clavia wouldn't want you to have a service manual for a model that is in current production. If it were me, I'd go ahead and contact Clavia directly, the worst they can say is NO, but at least that's an answer.
Cheers, Hanon

Re: Service Manual for the C2 ?
Hi Hanon_CTS,
And many thanks for your answer. I think you are right on both counts. The company is probably not inclined to release its Service Manuals for models which are still in production. But, like you said, I have nothing to loose to ask then directly.
By the way, I fully agree with you about the awesome quality of the C2. I have worked with quite a few Hammond clones (the old Korg BX-3, the Roland VK8-M), and while these machines were very good, the C2 is superior to them in every aspect. The only thing I miss, since I use the C2 as my main keyboard to control other synthesizer modules, is some kind of pitch bend wheel (like the Numa or the VK-88 have), which could come in handy some times. But it isn't a big deal compared to all the beautiful sounds my Nord gives me.
Regards, and thanks again

Re: Service Manual for the C2 ?
Hi again,
I finally got news from the Nord distributor in Canada and from Clavia in Sweden. Both were very nice and helpful. However, it seems that Clavia does not distribute or sell its Service Manuals to simple users like me. They say there are almost no serviceable parts inside the machine, and those that are require service experience with the unit and/or contact with their service manager. So, if I ever have a technical problem with my C2, the best thing to do will be to bring it to one of their authorized dealers who will send it to a qualified service tech. I read many times that Nord products are built like tanks. I sure hope its true, so I won't have to send it away fot repair.

Merry Christmas, Hanon
