Here's what I want to do.
Play the pipe organ sounds for lodge ceremonial music
have the means to play regular organ music as through a leslie
I have powered pa speakers and a motion sound Pro-145 at my disposal
Can I use the motion sound in the stopped mode for pipe organ sounds? if so, What do I do?
I don't want to carry a pair of 1000 watt speakers (QSC K-12's) plus the Motion Sound Pro-145 Rotary amp if one or the other will do. I'm trying to minimize the amount of gear to carry. One last question In order to obtain both the pipe organ and B3 sounds do I need to use a pair of speakers or just one?
How do I plug all this in as the motion sound also uses a 1/2 inch output jack?
Thanks Howard

Re: pipe organ sounds plus leslie?
Hi.
Pipe organ is sampled in stereo = needs a stereo amp, a Leslie speaker would provide only mono. A Leslie treble driver is limited in frequency response so
the pipe organ will sound bandpass-filtered -> not sounding good. Your Leslie simulation needs stereo amplification too - its job is
simulating a stereo effect. This means carriyng Leslie and PA or to decide which organ type to play. Of course the PA can do both jobs.

Re: pipe organ sounds plus leslie?
Easiest way is to carry stereo PA and use the in-built Leslie sim for B3. As Dynanord says, you really need full-spectrum audio for the pipe organ, but if you insist on it being Leslie'd as an effect, you could use an external sim like the Neo Ventilator. I honestly don't think its' a good idea, though. I use a pair of 8" actives with a 12" active sub for my C2D, and I find that's a pretty good compromise between extreme bass response and portability. The pipe organ sounds nice through it, anyway, and the Leslie sim sounds fine to my ears, despite the lack of moving air. Having tried the pipe organ through my rotary speaker I can confirm this is only for die-hard idiots.

I, too was very excited about Pipe-organ-through-a-Leslie, til I tried it. Chorale is all right, if it's not too fast, but tremolo doesn't do much for the pipe organ.

Re: pipe organ sounds plus leslie?
did you ever try changing the Leslie fast speed on your Pro-3x?Mooser wrote:if it's not too fast
There is so-called "Gas Pedal" by Motion Sound which supposed to change gradually the speed, like the expression pedal changes the volume. Do you think it might be a good addition to the Pro-3x?

Re: pipe organ sounds plus leslie?
The "Gas Pedal" does not apply to the Pro 3x, as far as I know, it was for use with an earlier model (Pro 3T or Pro3, there's been a couple). As you know the speed controls and ramp controls are on the inside of the case. They are tricky little buggers to adjust as each control affects the other! You set the fast, it changes the slow and the ramp, and vice-versa. If it is still set to the factory specs (more or less the same speeds and ramps as a "Well maintained, but older 145".) don't screw with it.
There's not a lot to be gained by adjusting them (unless you enjoy driving yourself nuts). Air doesn't change much, and the horns work best in a narrow speed range.
If you do want to change it, refer to the manual, the cabinet must be opened in a certain way! Best is to open it up, and operate it opened up, with a bottom, and adjust the tiny printed-circuit pots on the board. And each one effect the other. A genuine pain in the patootie.
