Hey,
Just bought a C2 off of ebay a few days ago. I've had it for about 5 days, and I love it SO SO MUCH!
I have a couple of questions though:
The official Nord C2 keyboard stand appears pretty expensive for what it is. Does it offer any substantial advantage over other cheaper stands, such as the On-Stage KS7150 platform stand?
I am super-fortunate to have a Leslie 3300, and it sounds great with the C2. However, I'd like to have a small amp as well. Currently, my small combo is a Polytone Sonic Bass with 15" speaker and no tweeter. Sounds okay, but I'm not really digging it. Can anyone suggest a good portable combo amp to use with the C2? The ElectroVoice SxA360 powered PA speaker looks pretty impressive, but I've never heard it...
Thanks!
Doug

Re: Nord C2 Amp, Keyboard Stand?
I use the on-stage platform stand and it works for me. Although every nut and bolt has come loose or been lost, feet included. Not very well built, but otherwise fine. I think it's more of a matter of fitting bass pedals underneath, If that's your thing.

Cool! I figured as such. Thanks.
Hey I was wondering- what do you use as a keyboard amp for the C2 (when you can't bring one of your Leslies?)

Re: Nord C2 Amp, Keyboard Stand?
Due to space constrictions and stage sizes, I can usually only bring one amp. For me, it's a Fender Deluxe Reverb. It's a 12" guitar tube amp, with built in reverb and vibrato. I bought it specifically for the Rhodes, but I like adding a bit of colour (cnd!) to some of the organ tones. It sounds great for the transistor organ models, but as mentioned in another C2 thread, it can lead you away from a "purer" B3 tone. When space allows, I also have a 15" Peavy Kb 300. Really rich and clean, sounds great but she's heavy as hell and stays home for the most part. I'd start looking at Rolands, they seem to be preferred among some circles. But for a free, clean and clear signal, run stereo direct into the house board. Put a little in the monitor...
All the best!

BTW....
The built in Leslie sim is so good, my Leslies are benched for future gigs until further notice. Even thinking about selling them off...

The last leslie that I had was the 145 about 12 years ago.
I bought, and used a Motion Sound 145 for my NE2 about 8 years ago.
The rotary sim was so much better on my NE3 that I ended up getting rid of the motion sound.
The C2 and NS2 rotary sim is even better still.
Cheers, Hanon

Re: Nord C2 Amp, Keyboard Stand?
Okay here's a tip, something I am trying, but I'm not sure yet, but here it is: I keep my Motion Sound Pro-3x on slow all the time, with the bottom sim off (both high and low at 0) but use the fast (tremelo) from my C-2,

Re: Nord C2 Amp, Keyboard Stand?
Mooser- I know a guy who does that. He uses a motion sound Pro-3x and Low Pro, but uses fast leslie sound from his keyboard.
I went ahead and placed an order for QSC K12 powered PA speaker. So far I have used it on 2 gigs, and it's excellent! I can definitely tell it has way more power than my Leslie 3300. One of the gigs was a rocking Organ/Drums duo, and let me tell you the K12 kicked serious butt. The thing sounds huge.

Re: Nord C2 Amp, Keyboard Stand?
I am using a zip stand with 2nd tier if I am playing funk stuff that needs the stage 2. Otherwise I have a flat table top stand from proline ($40) that works really well with pedals underneath.
I use either 1 or 2 eV zlx 12p speakers live for mono/stereo setups. They are 1000w each and kick serious volume without distorting. I bought 2 of them for the price of one K 10. Just a thought
