Nord C1 > Ventilator > QSC K10

Postby dazzjazz » 12 Feb 2012, 10:27

Hi,
is anyone here using a Nord C1 through a Ventilator, then using a QSC K10 as the amp?
How does this sound? I find the C1s sim sounds wrong through the K10 - the wrong frequencies are emphasised.

Would appreciate your thoughts

Darren

I use the QSC K10 for everything through a mixer and pre amp for acoustic guitar. But tv, movies, radio, ipods, sons yamaha keyboards all work well through it. I can see needing a mixer for the key board on some organ patches but it isn't horrible. I wonder how does it sound without the sim? Are the tones good but missing the leslie effect or are some frequencies still out there. The C1 can go much lower then out cheap keyboard so the K10 might be fighting itself. Do you have the Sub? Do individual notes cause a problem? Maybe try individual notes then add in simple chords to more complex chords across the spectrum and see where the problem begins? Just some thoughts but since no else had an opinion I figured I would try to help at least a little. Let us know what you find. Later Bertotti

the NS2 organ sounds a lot better than my C1 using the internal sim.
The weird eq hump isn't there - it's this that makes me think it's related to the sim.

thanks Darren

I use exactly that setup and it sounds awesome. It's nice and fat sounding and I get nothing but compliments on my sound.

You can't go wrong with that.

Sorry Dazz,

I play jazz organ trio type stuff...... funky soul.

I do have to clarify that I'm using the K12s, not the K10s. The bass response is a bit better for kicking bass.

I find that the C1 simulator sounds very phased in a PA.
Have tried to pan it 11:00(Left) and 13:00 (Right)?
Also I find that the closer together you have the speakers the more phased it sounds.
Have you tried using just one channel ie mono
