This is the first of two questions about the C1:
I've recently started using my C1 with a Neo Ventilator, which, for various reasons, I like a lot (although I think it's over-priced, and didn't appreciate discovering after I bought it that I needed to shell out additional money for a remote footswitch).
So: The Vent has only a mono input. The C1 has stereo output. Should it matter whether I connect the Vent to C1 via the organ's left or right out? I've tried both, and can't really hear a difference. But, I can't hear lots of things, so I may not be the best judge.
Your thoughts?

Re: C1 with Neo Ventilator
Hello Jamienewman,
Welcome to the forums!
Hi Jamie,
the stereo output of the C1 only becomes "stereo" when stereo effects are applied, but the basic, un-effected organ sound is mono.
Cheers, Hanon

Re: C1 with Neo Ventilator
As a habit, I always use the LEFT out when going Mono.

Re: C1 with Neo Ventilator
Your Vent can work in stereo... look in the manual.

Re: C1 with Neo Ventilator
How do you like the sound of the Ventilator compared to the C1's interal sim?

Re: C1 with Neo Ventilator
I am not Jamienewman, but I also got one a couple of week ago, and must say I am very impressed !
I also have a sweet sounding A100 and a 147 Leslie, but I must say that the Neo/C1 combo are pretty close.
The Neo remove that harsh tone in the middle and top from the C1, so it does not hurt my ear so much.
But it have to be run in stereo for the best Leslie-effect, and it has the sweet spot just before the input overload lamp on the Neo light up where it sound best.
There are a video on Youtube where they compare the Neo with a LEX Leslie simulator, to me, the Neo has the best overdrive, but I think the LEX has a better lesliesimulator at tremolo, where the Neo got a little bit more shimmering simulation.
I am going to use my C1 + Neo for small gigs, and the A100/147 for the other, but i am going to run my Leslie as monitor, and feed the PA directly from my Hammond via the Neo

Re: C1 with Neo Ventilator
A100 with 147. Nice. I gather the A100 sounds better than the 3 amped organs. I had a C3 and a 147. I had a load of different tubes which all sounded different and I used to swap them about.
I'm interested in getting more out of the organ and have noted the ventilator but on principle, I wouldn't pay that much for a "pedal". You see various people rigging their 6 pin leslies up to a Nord and I reckon it's a waste of a leslie.
I haven't got one yet, but I am planning to get a leslie clone and running that. My logic being that the Nord Leslie STOP sound is pretty good. It recreates the boxyness you get with a 145 which you can EQ out to a 147 or 33H. It follows that this sound put through something which rotates "right" should do a bloody good job. I am currently looking at Sharma Cabinets. They are bombproof, about 1/4 of the price of a ventilator and are very loud without adding their own "tone" to the Nord. If you put a tonewheel hammond through one, they sound very very bad, however, the Nord is a different animal.
I think I had some very old 6L6G tubes which I used instead of 6550s in the leslie. They had bottle envelopes and sounded a lot nicer than the cylinder 6550s I had. See if you can track some down. They go cheap.

Re: C1 with Neo Ventilator
I have just received (friday) a box of brand new tubes (Sovtek 6550) and other parts for my Leslie from US, so I am on the way to see my rig in about an hour
Try to do a google search for Neo Ventilator, there are a couple of useful post at Keyboard Corner (Harmony Central ?) and Organforum.com, I was a bit skeptical at first, there are always a lot of rambling when there are new products out, the Neo are not cheap, but I am very happy with my purchase.
One of the great thing it does for the C1 are the amp simulator that gave the C1 that smooth sound in the treble-area.
I have also made a stomp-box to run the C1 (via its hot output) into the 147, of course, the Leslie-effect are better, but the sound are more useful and "tweakable" through the Neo.
One big minor on the C1 are that I think the swell-pedal work to much like a regular volume-pedal.

Re: C1 with Neo Ventilator
Coming back to jamienewman's original question: the question boils down to asking when are the signals coming out of the left and right outputs exactly the same vs. different (where different could in principle range from very slightly different to quite different). Hanon_CTS says that the signals from the left vs. right outputs are only different when stereo effects are applied. I'm already pretty sure that the internal Leslie sim is a stereo effect, with significantly different signals coming from left vs. right outputs. Does anyone know what other effects are stereo? For those that are stereo, how prominent is the difference in the left and right signals (i.e. what does one lose when using these effects if coming out of only one of the outputs?
Thanks,
DocH

Re: C1 with Neo Ventilator
I've been thinking about buying a ventilaor to use with my stage 2 and have been looking into this stereo/ mono question. On the Stage 2, the pre leslie organ sound is mono, and the post leslie effect sound is stereo. If you're using external effects, you can route the organ signals to output 3, and it comes out in mono bypassing all the internal effects ( including the reverb, unfortunately). This signal can then go into the Vent in mono, then you can take the stereo, post leslie effect, out from the Vent to your amp or mixer. As I thought about it, this made sense as feeding a stereo signal into a leslie and having the two stereo parts swirling seperately would be likely to sound wierd; ceratinly not how a Hammond/ Leslue wold work. My only question at this point is whether the Vent would improve the organ sound on the Stage enough to justify the substantial costif the Vent and the inconvenience of having another anither thing to set up before each gig.
