C1 flashing "pro" on led display

Postby thomasdarcy1984 » 13 Nov 2012, 17:27

Hi,
I am having some trouble with my nord C1.

Nearly every time I turn on the unit it flases "pro" on the led display. Whilst this is flashing it is completely unresponsive. Once the flashing stops it functions as normal except when I use it live. When I use it live it seems like the vibrations from the drums or bass drive it crazy. The settings for the drive, delay, amp modular and reverb go on and off constantly. I think it might be something small like a loose connection down that end of the keyboard as it doesn't effect any of the settings anywhere else.
Is this a common problem?
Could you please advise of a possible solution or direct me to a service centre in Ireland if possible?

I have already upgraded the operating system and gone through the FAQ's

Kind regards
Thomas

Why don't you consult with some expert LED Display service provider in order to resolve this issue. I am sure you will get resolution immediately.

thaomasdarcy, Pablo Mastodon, the Nord service manager, usually never forgets to monitor the forum and provide help. Or you can reach Nord through their home page. It might be best to contact Nord or their rep before you turn the C1 over to anybody to service.

Anyway, yours flashes "pro"? Mine always reads "rank amatuer" while it's booting up. :?

slight correction -- I handle tech support for Nord products in Canada and USA on behalf of their respective exclusive distributors. Do not actually work for Nord, but do have occasion to communicate with them often. Posts from member named "The Nord Crew" are coming from the "mothership" in Stockholm.

I'm happy to offer advice across borders, but for reasons which I hope are obvious, like to keep things informal here in this (and other) online forums, and actually handle work-related business through my work email:

pablo.mastodon@americanmusicandsound.com

With regard to the problem with the C1, it would seem to be a hardware issue and will need to be seen by competent electronics technician. Those kinds of issues are best handled through the respective service departments of the nation in which the Nord resides, which is why I didn't stick my nose into this case sooner...

I am certainly hoping that the original poster has found relief since last November...

Pablo

P.S. -- "PRO" is commonly displayed when attempting a Store operation and Memory Protect has not been disabled. Perhaps this is something as simple as the Store button being a little sticky and being pressed during boot...just a thought...

Thanks, Pablo, I was wondering what the "pro" meant. If pressed, I would have to admit that a little erratic up-and-down from the PROG/MENU +- buttons is the only fault my C2 has ever displayed. I'll put some Amarula on it, and see if it helps.
