Anyone using a Motion Sound Pro 145 with their C2D?
Is anyone using a Motion Sound Pro 145 with their C2D? If so, how do you like it? I was looking at a Leslie 3300 but it is rather large and heavy. Does the Pro 145 compare to the 3300 at all?
Any opinions would be great!
Thanks,
Ryan

I have all three. There is no comparison between the MS and the Leslie. Aside from not supporting the 11-pin, the MS just doesn't have the bottom of the 3300 or the fullness of sound. However, if you're near Atlanta and want a good deal on a like-new MS Pro 145 complete with custom cover, I will entertain any reasonable offer. BTW, it has the upgraded woofer which helps with the bottom end. It is absolutely as new. It sounds a little better on my KeyB Mark 111 but I attribute that to the different voice characteristics of the KeyB.

Thanks for the info Chas. I guess I'll try to figure out if I can fit 3300 in the back seat of my Ford Taurus, otherwise I might just pick up a modded Neo Mini Vent with a QSC 10 or 12.

Sincerely,
I used my MS on my NS2 and my Hammond C2.
I did not like MS. I do not think it's worth, I dont feel the "sound" as I thought would happen.
The MS complete my Leslie 820 (which has no horns), but I still miss the sound pressure.

It's too bad MS didn't source the right horn and driver. Obviously, it can be done, since so many other-than-Leslie rotating-horn speakers use them. The MS horn is 'flat' or 'blarey' the Leslie horn has 'rounder' more 'bell like' sound.

I changed the bass speaker in my low pro. Now it packs some serious bass. Even sounds great with my freetless bass.
The speaker used is a resonance 1251.
Big improvement

You mention using a QSC K12. I've just acquired my 2nd, and run the L & R outputs into each (separately). Man, with that stereo separation, I find the Leslie Sim to be absolutely killer. Especially with a little distance between the speakers. When I first got my C2D, I ran it into a rig I have - Motion Sound (Pro Motion) amp, with low frequency output to a Marshall 200W bass amp. Killer, and loud for sure. Then ran it into a Trek II preamp - to my 122 Leslie. Again, nice - authentic Leslie sound. But bottom line - Absolutely not worth all the weight and extra gear. QSC's are relatively light and compact. 1000W's each - (which you'll never use) , tons of bass if you want, easy to move around and place. Those in combination with the C2D Les. sim - fughedabaddit!

I think I am going to look at a K12 when I get chance. I also like the idea of the Leslie 2121 which uses the same crossover point as a vintage Leslie between the speaker and the horn. I bet the internal sim would sound pretty good through that, as well as a Vent. Plus I could add the top rotor at a later date.
