Anyone know if the C2D will fit into the Hammond SK2 gig bag

The wheels on my Nord gig bag add a lot of weight and I don't really use them.

Size is pretty similar - the Nord is about half and inch longer but the SK2 is about an inch more front to back, so for a soft case the difference would be negligible, I reckon. That said, I wouldn't think there's much difference in the weight - maybe a pound or so - half a kilo. Added to the weight of the keyboard itself I doubt if you'd notice any difference and you'll get more consistent protection from the Nord bag.

I don't use the wheels on my case all the time, but unless you only use the keyboard in the same one or two places or just use the case to store it out of the way at home, I'd say they're worth while. My band has been using a temporary rehearsal space involving a lot of carting about compared to our normal venue, and the wheels are fantastically useful for that ...

Thx, tacitus. I'll probably just stick with the Nord case then. Or maybe get something a bit more light-duty made by Colorado Cases.

I've seen a couple of lightweight cases here in the UK that look as if they'd work for a C2-type keyboard but one of them. at least, looked as if it would barely keep the rain off. I didn't know how I'd get on the with Nord case itself as I'm generally likely to flightcase something if it needs protection. I'm reasonably impressed all ways round, and I only bought it because I was worried about how much it'd all weigh in a flightcase and for once I wanted to have all the right bits - I got the C2D, the pedal27 board (and case), the official stand, the music rest and the half-moon switch. If I ever decide to sell it that'll be a better proposition; as I have a vintage combo organ with its legs missing, I know how irritating it can be to some people not to have the full original product.

Just bought the Gator GKB-61 at Guitar Center. Makes a nice super lightweight alternative to the Nord organ gigbag, if you don't need as much protection. Just an inch and half extra at each end but I stuck some foam in there.
