Triple pedal breaking, can i re assign? HELP!

Postby lydian » 22 Jul 2016, 16:20

Hey all,

My triple pedal, sustain pedal seems to be on its way out. It's so loose, and always sustaining half the sound now, i really need this to work as im using it every day whilst on tour. It's an emergency!

Is there any way i can reassign to the sustinuto pedal? or fix this atall. I'm lost without it. Any help would be much appreciated.

I do have some techies with me which makes me a bit safer about opening it up and having a fiddle if i absolutely needed to. Any help on reassigning or fixing this would be much appreciated.

Loose pedal... could it be the springs? "Half the sound"? not sure what you mean. It stops sustaining? If so it could be dirty contacts or a dodgy cable.

Have a look here to learn what is inside:
nord-stage-forum-f3/inside-triple-pedal-modification-t1883.html
If you mean rewiring, the middle pedal is a single switch and the triple pedal senses combinations via a set of resistors, so I do not think it will be straightforward to reassign and if you are able to rewire it, it would work only as simple sustain (i.e. 1 switch).
Best option is to get a simple 1 switch non-latching pedal (like the Yamaha FC5 or M-Audio SP2 or Boss FS-5U or similar, they are all just a temporary switch).
It shouldn't matter if they are "normally On" or "Off" as the NS2 can detect this (but you will have to change the pedal setting as these are not "triple" type). Then try to see what is wrong with your pedal when the tour is over.
Good luck!
