This is the right place if your topic concerns different Nord Keyboards, you are not sure which one is the right one for you, etc.

The problem is that Yamaha, Kawai, Casio all build their own actions, afaik. As a small company, even if Nord knew *how* to make a better action, they probably could not make it for as little as they can buy one from Fatar, so that means that expensive keyboards get even more so. (And Yamaha, Kawai, Casio are probably not inclined to sell their actions to their competitors.) BTW, I would not go so far as to say that those other lightweight actions are not a compromise, either!

No argument as far as the other companies not being willing to sell their actions, but when I think about how good Nord's are, they deserve a better action IMO.

And I guess I should have qualified my 'not a compromise' comment by saying 'less of a compromise' especially when it comes to the HP action.

Personnaly, I would see the following developments on future versions of the Nord Keyboards:

1) I think that Nord could integrate a string machine in the organ section of the NE or the NS rather than in the "sample library" (even if samples of the the Nord library are very good!). Like Streichfett from Waldorf company (I have had it before buying my NE4, it’s a very fun to use little box).
I think that physical modeling (because of the paraphony of these old synths for example) is more adapted than sampling to sound reproduction of string machines. In addition, from the point of view of ergonomics, the string machines are very close to organs (with the presence of stops for example, not to mention that models such as the Eminent 310 were basically home organs!). Chorus or string ensemble effects could be activated / deactivated via the chorus / vibrato of the organ section.

2) I agree with a XL version of Black Upright (or Blue Swede!)
3) Better Rhodes (more realistic, perhaps with more noises from the original)
4) Ability to do multiple sample velocity layers in the sample editor
5) Endless, a less realistic idea: a double keyboard NE with a waterfall upper keyboard and a weighted action lower keyboard…

I'm sure it's been said before, but the ability to route the 1/8" stereo input to the L/R outputs would be nice.

Do not know if we can do it already, but would like to use the mod wheel from a Nord stage 3 for example and control the Morph parameters assigned to the mod wheel of a Nord stage 2 via midi...

So using one hand, we could control the morph of the two boards simultaneously

An A2 with 61 keys, aftertouch and a vocoder. If it could play samples it would be nice, but this is not a must.

I'd buy it immediately.

Just a librarian with sample/piano transfer would be enough.

Being able to update firmware would be bonus.

I'm thinking onstage. We already have IPads all over the place for lyrics and personal monitor management - it would be nice to have access to Nord this way too. Esp via bluetooth....
