The DX Tines sounds very expressive. I'd wager it's more expressive on the Nord keyed than it was on the DX7 - I'll have to dig out my DX7 and SY77 then do a side-by-side comparison against the NS2 I think ;)

Never liked the Rubber-Rhodes sound, but the DX Tines is useful for the odd 80's cheesy track.

The "full tines" sound has note-off samples. Did the original DX7 patch produce sound when you lift off your finger?

I just found out about the Rubber-Rhodes, never having played a DX7... And I love it! :D So much "bark", I'm considering putting some funky tunes together just to use that sound.

This is great! Demos sound very authentic. Can't wait to download and play them on my NP88.

Just too bad I can't layer sounds, it would be great to have this layered with the acoustics.

Funny, in my memory the DX7 was always very dynamic, with great velocity response. More so than most other digitals up until the mid-90's or so, I'd say. It may not have felt as expressive due to the lack of on-board FX (reverb etc.). I never owned one, but when I first played one I was surprised how well it responded to touch, once you added a little external reverb.

Nice from NORD to have some more piano's !! Sound not bad !! I noticed the Wurly's have moved to the E Piano 1 bank and the new DX's to the E Piano 2 bank (when you download the Nord Electro 5 Factory Restore and make a .ZIP of the file). Maybe in the near future they will fill this bank with piano's from ROLAND, KORG or maybe CASIO ? Would be very nice !! Thank you, NORD !!
