Pianet sample noise!
Hi folks,
Is it me...or does the Hohner Pianet sample (found in the legacy section) have an unusual harmonic present in it? I tried to EQ it out. I'd actually need a notch filter to knocking out but there is obvious knitting like that on the Electro 5D.
Your thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Tom

Re: Pianet sample noise!
They could, but the pianet was not much touch sensitive due to the mechanism to made the notes sound (it even said so in some original pianet brochure i read in the net). It should be possible, though, to create a 'super-pianet' that responds to velocity more than in the original and include some barking too, but that would not be a recreation of the original anymore.

Re: Pianet sample noise!
Any Hohner afficionados know if there are sonic/expressive advantages to the Pianet T, as opposed to the N?
I purchased a multilayered T sample set a while back... so long ago that its publisher appears to have gone under in the ensuing years. It was considered a "stocking stuffer" in a much larger sample library.
All this talk about Pianets has me wondering whether it would be worth converting the T to a single-layer in my Nord. Thoughts?

The Pianet N is so much nicer and more expressive than the T.PScooter63 wrote:Any Hohner afficionados know if there are sonic/expressive advantages to the Pianet T, as opposed to the N?

It has more of a wurly bark to it while the T is pure bell.
It is possible to do nice samples of it though.
I made a two layer version for Soundtrap (http://www.soundtrap.com) that turned out very nice, although the software does not support release samples.
I also made a single layer for Nord very long ago but it´s still in the library.

Anyway, examples of Pianet N:
Elton John - Sails
Sly Stone - Family affair
Beatles - Savoy Truffle, The Walrus
Corduroy - Chowdown
