Pedals For Nord C2D | StudioLogic MP-117 Pedals

Postby cedriccjmusic » 25 Apr 2017, 16:55

TL;DR Version
Here's my modification of the StudioLogic MP-117 Pedals. The stock wooden pedals are too small. Therefore, I replaced the existing wooden pedals and extended them by installing 13" inch wood extensions.

StudioLogic MP-117 Pedals with Nord C2D Organ

As much as I love Nord, their Pedal Keys 27 cost as much as a 61-key Korg Kronos 2 (which I own). While I'd love to have them, my cost analysis says nope...lol.

I've owned the JG3Tech 24-note pedalboard for almost a year, and they gave me nothing but issues (springs cheap/easily breakable, freezes up every time a major appliance comes on, screen going crazy, etc.). Even after modding it with cosmetic upgrades, I'm still too scared to take it out for a show/gig/conference/convention etc.

The only other option under $1000 seems to be the StudioLogic MP-117.

Things to note:

- To map all the StudioLogic MP-117 notes correctly to the Nord C2D, while holding down the Transpose Button, you have to press the lowest Db and then the lowest D. That action transposes the pedalboard up 12 notes, and effectively maps the bass manual completely.
- The wooden pedals that come stock are too short for heel-toe.

I extended/lengthened the StudioLogic MP-117 pedals...Here's how!

Looks nice! I simply replaced the original wooden keys with some 30 cm pieces, which are rounded on the top side.

Thanks, @JoeCool! Awesome! So thankful that modification of these pedals was rather easy. It was just the drying of the varnish and the polyurethane that took some time/patience. Overall, I'm happy with the result.
