The first PowerBook was Motorola-based. The last PowerBook was based on the G4 PowerPC.
They dropped the name when they switched to Intel. All subsequent laptops have been named “MacBook”.
I wouldn’t nit-pick this but for the fact that the OP seems to be working with computers from the PowerPC era that ended in 2006, so there is a real possibility that he is in fact talking about an actual PowerBook, which wouldn’t help him at all.
