Nord Uneven things..
Hi!I am a big fan of Nord sounds but i can't understand 1 simple thing. Firstly i got a Nord Lead 4 and the keys were so uneven.I contacted the local dealer and i got a new one.The keys were still uneven on the new one. Then i read some forums , saying that it is a common problem for Nord Lead series.Anyway i lived with it .Now i got a brand new Nord Electro 5D 73 and i can see that drawbars are uneven too!So why such a big company don't care about these things?Cause they are handmade and they can't be perfect?I know it's not such a big thing but we pay so much money and we want everything to be perfect!(At least for me!).

Re: Nord Uneven things...
Seems simple enough to check and decide what to do. It looks like the problem is one of the following:
A) the plastic knob needs to be pushed down
B) there is some debris stuck inside the plastic knob preventing it from being pushed down
C) whatever piece the knob pushes onto is bent upward
I’d recommend that you call your dealer and see what they say before attempting any repair on your own.

Re: Nord Uneven things..
Maybe because... it is not that "big"? Or because that small unevenness doesn't really affect the use of the instrument (and in the case of the picture it may be solved by just pressing down the 16' cap a little bit)?Keysmaster90 wrote:!So why such a big company don't care about these things?

I doubt it's poor Quality control on behalf of Clavia(I've been buying Nords Since 1995 without any issues)
In 23 years of buying Nord Keyboards I've never had an issues with Keys not sitting level, and I have certainly never seen or heard anywhere its a common problem with the Lead series,so whoever has told you that clearly is giving out misinformation,Nord Products IMO have perhaps one of the best brand reputations for reliability and build quality in the keyboard sector thats why many Live performers choose them, and I'm sure there will be floods of happy users in here who would agree too and have nothing but praise for the Nord Brand.
I would expect uneven Keys from a secondhand keyboard thats been heavily used to have some play in the alignment which would be inevitable from years of playing but even The Nord 1 and Nord 2 I owned for a couple of decades before selling them were used and gigged regularly and never showed any signs of uneveness,so to say its a fault with the Newer Lead 4 is complete myth,I doubt Clavia would send out defective models, theres nothing wrong with my Nord 4 or any of my current Nord Keyboards,Other than some users concerned about the noise from the power supplies there certainly have not been any reports of faulty Keybeds with the 4
Nord products are of high quality and doubt it would be a case of poor build or components or a Lack of care and attention,I would expect that having that unique human touch from hand assembly is less likely to suffer from QC problems like mass produced synths on production lines not likely to more imperfections
I would pull the Cap off the drawbar and reseat it before making assumptions Clavia don't care!!!
Sometimes a little issue like this which may seem annoying to an individual and Psychologically affect there relationship with an Instrument can escalate into such a trivial matter for no reason at all.

As far as I know, Clavia is less than 30 people. The guys you see in the "roll-out" pictures they publish when they release a new product, are pretty much all of the company.Keysmaster90 wrote:...why such a big company don't care about these things?
That of course is not an excuse for product defects (which I never experienced myself), but just to put things into perspective.

Re: Nord Uneven things..
Can someone with drawbars experience say if they have the same issue?I am just afraid they wont ''break'' in 1 month. Also i didn't characterized Nord as a big company for the people they work there , but for the reputation they have...

Have you actually tried to reseat the Drawbar slider cap Yourself???????????????? you could apply a little bit of gentle pressure and see if it just needs pushing down or pull it off and reseat it again!!!!
These are robust instruments as I've already testified in my previous post from ownership of many Keyboards in 23 years, they are not going to break unless you abuse them!!!
a little bit of common sense on your behalf would go a long way before thinking it's the result of bad components or poor company standards

if you had of explained in your previous post that you've already done that with the slider cap, which you didnt...... then it would have saved me time typing out,You were more interested in blaming people for poor quality than telling us you've already tried to remedy it...
Never mind...

Re: Nord Uneven things..
4D user here, never looked at the height of the drawbars. Never noticed any issues with level of keys or other buttons. Clavia makes quality musical instruments, not surgical equipment. So one drawbar button sticks out a bit? To me it's acceptable and easily resolved.
Don't lose sleep over it.
