Nord Sample Editor - Upper key limit?
Hey, I just bought a Nord Wave and started to add my own samples with the Sample Editor app. I use only one sampled tone per instrument. I want this sample to play pitched over the full keyboard range but my problem is that I can only set the Upper key value at maximum 2 octaves above the Root key value. This means that if the sample is on Root key F1, the highest this sample will play is F3, and above F3 it is quiet. Is there a way to set the Upper key value higher than only 2 octaves above Root key?

You get much better results if you use at least one sample per octave... Of course, you can do that with your one sampled tone by transposing it up or down an octave or two (or three if you want to stretch it) in Audacity or similar audio editing software and then use those samples to extend the range. It wound sound pretty, unless you're using simple samples (like a synth osc wave like a sawwave or something similar).

Re: Nord Sample Editor - Upper key limit?
Thanks MrSitcom. I am not really using pure tones, it is more noises, so if it transposes 5 octaves up is no problems, it still sounds like a noise
My problem is that if a sample has a very low Root key, say C1, then it goes quiet 2 octaves up at C3. And I want to judge myself whether it sounds good or bad 5 octaves up, I don't need Clavia to say it sounds like s*** and forbid me to play those evil tones. Or am I just missing a function here?

Re: Nord Sample Editor - Upper key limit?
I described a workaround in my first post. Not sure why Nord decided to limit Sample editor in that way.

Hi, with one sample you can get only 2 octaves below and 2 octaves above from the original root key.
Maybe, as MrSitcom said, you can make (in an audio editor software) one octave down version of your sample and one octave above, and put 3 samples instead of one.
Then you can put one sample in C2, next C3 and the last one in C4, and get a full 6 octaves with your sample.
