Hi I am very interested in a Nord Rack 2X. Is this compatible with the sound library downloads?

No mention of the the Rack 2X. Can anyone help? I listened to lots of the sounds on the site and was hugely impressed, very very nice. What is the Rack 2X exactly? and will it play these sounds?

Nope, the Rack 2x is a virtual analog and does not have sample loading capabilities. It's a nice synth.

Damn, well what is the least expensive Nord keyboard that will play these samples?

I don't have a 5 octave keyboard so maybe that would be useful for me going forward, but not weighted keys (would like just normal synth keys)

What is the oldest/cheapest compatible Nord there? The Electro 3?

No other way of playing these samples?

The Electro 3 is the least expensive entry point to gain access to the Nord sample library. You can find them used with 61 or 73 note waterfall keyboard actions - very smooth organ type action that is not weighted like a piano action.

If you don't already have a keyboard and you are looking for more capability, you might want to consider an Electro 5, which has more capabilities than the 3. It really depends on what you're trying to do. From my viewpoint, I use the Nords first for the Hammond and piano/EP capabilities, second for samples and synths. You'll get a lot of great sounds beyond just the sample library, which is really great too.
