I am considering buying a used NORD Electro in the US and shipping it here to the Philippines. Power here is 220V. I initially assumed that perhaps it works like my Mac and phones, i.e., they have a universal power supply so you don't have to think about it. I tried to find some information and found this page and now I am concerned as I am not an electrician and I would hate to buy a keyboard and bring it here unable to use out of the box.

Hi Conrado,
Yes this is a real (and annoying) issue. Changing the operating voltage requires changing the fuse value and opening the Nord to switch the transformer from 110V to 220V (or 115V/230V) mode.

There is no easy way around this, but the options I can think of are:
1. Buy a used electro from a 220V source country.
2. Buy a 220 to 110V transformer (needs about 30W). --this might be a nuisance if you gig, but I believe some people on this forum have toured with their Nords this way.

That's exactly what I do. Power here is 220v and I use a 220 to 110v transformer. That'll solve your problem.

If i were to purchase a NORD ELECTRO 4 or 5 model, would these diagrams still be accurate? If not, can someone provide the applicable guide and/or images for changing the voltage within the keyboard?

I believe all the newer power supplies contain a switch like this one http://www.electro-music.com/forum/phpbb-files/nordlead2xand3_nordmodularg2andg2x_110_220v_831.jpg.

The power supplies are the same or very similar between most models of Nord. Online videos or written guides from any model will be helpful (except for exact screws that need to be removed to open the chassis).

New to the forum and a proud new owner of a Nord Electro 6 73-key. I'm taking it from the UK to the USA where I'd like to buy a step-down transformer. Can someone please recommend a reliable model? This is the only instrument I will need it for.

If it’s for a long-term stay, do open it up and change the setting. It’s literally just a switch and a fuse.

Thanks, It's long-term. I gather it involves a slightly different fuse holder. But I assume it'll be straightforward once I get it back and open it up. Cheers.

It is the value of the fuse, not the size that matters. Search the forum, the fuse types and values have been posted several times.
So you could get a different value and keep the same fuse holder:

type 250v slo-blo
230v operation = 125mA <-- you have this
115v operation = 300mA <-- you need this one
