I'll be curious to hear how this sounds through my CPS Spacestation v3.

I have the XL-version in my Nord Piano 3 now and it sounds really good at least in my headphones

I like it a lot so far. I think it may take the Studio Grand 2's spot in my piano roster, as I already have two other Yamahas (Bright Grand and Grand Upright). The Royal sounds a lot better in the upper range than the Studio Grand 2 to me.

Another Yamaha - I was hoping for an XL Steinway. Oh well, better than nothing! The dummy head idea is different. Looks like they are releasing a "regular" version later this winter.

I was underwhelmed at first, but after an hour or so of playing with it, I'm warming up to it. I think it may be my new "home practice with headphones" piano (I'll be keeping the Fazioli for gigging, since I'm not a fan of how the binaural recording sounds in mono through an amp).
Electro 5D 61, Korg Kronos 88, Yamaha P120, and some guitars, basses, and drums

Sounds phantasticly with my sennheiser headphones - "it opens the room", especially if played very soft and also with the higher octaves. On motion sound (stereo) amp its not so different to the other grand pianos but still nice to play. With the band it will not make much difference, but if I play for myself - its wonderful.
Thank You Nord for this Christmas gift!

Yes, why not, if it sounds good? I tried it because i still search for a go to piano sample for live playing. I often take only one FBT active speaker with my NE 3/73. For me this new sample sounds good in mono. I take the right output on my electro, not the left/mono output, i think the right sounds better (and no "mono" button).azwel wrote:does it make sense to use it in mono?
