It's just my opinion, maybe I 'm wrong...

I believe that the Nord acoustic piano patches sound better in stereo than they do in mono, but in my personal opinion, this is because there is something in the Nord acoustic piano patches that just does not work right in mono. My Nord is primarily for live gigging, and I am one those people who think running a keyboard in stereo does not make sense when sending sounds to a live audience. I play in a 6 person band where up to 4 of us sing at once and 3-part vocals are in most of the songs, so I am more interested in finding a clean place to get my keyboard sounds injected into the overall sound, without stepping on top of the guitarists or singers. I am glad that Nord has produced a nice new EP sound that is in Mono.

Yes. Unless there is some magic compression, the file size might be (at least when expanded) twice the size. I would prefer to have an extra layer than a stereo sample.

I mentioned a couple of times, that it would be perhaps useful for some users to have mono versions of the npno samples. When playing mono setups, stereo samples just take extra space with no benefit, and it would be possible to upload more mono samples.

Finally tested the Nefertiti yesterday.
Definitely a keeper, much more presence along the mid-upper registers than other EPs. It's true that it is a bit dark and lacking in "bells".
But as other suggested, carefully EQing the mid-highs can bring out a fair amount of tine sound, and finally I layered it with the EP5 Bright Tines, turned down in volume just to make the tines come out that little bit.

Now I have my definitive Rhodes sound! :)

I've been playing the Nefertiti in rehearsals and gigs and jams. I love it. No, to paraphrase Woody Allen in "Annie Hall", I lurve it.

I use it without layering, and I am absolutely in love with it. Just the right bark for me, snd you can EQ it to bring out the top end if you want to.

I played it at home and in a rehearsal and im also very pleased! Now i run it with the twin amp sim and treble boost and these days i play it more often than my real Rhodes or my Vintage Vibe! ;-)

I too have an Electro 4. I think the Nefertiti is worth a substitution for a try-out. It takes 1/3 less space, and you now have the freedom to use the amp sims more effectively than with EP7. I personally am not very high on Nord's "amped" samples...I think they take too much space for what you are getting.

I have the Nefertiti, the EP1 (for the bells) and the EP4 (for another model) on my board and that seems to cover everything...with a total MB grab of 33.7.

You too may find the Nefertiti a tad murky on the low-middle end, but as others have suggested it takes EQ very well, and you should be able to dial that out. I'm pretty pleased it...and when I start doubting I switch over to the Mark V. Then I get sick of that and go back to Tut's hot mom...

I also was annoyed by the out-of-tune C#, I expect this will be fixed promtly...
