This is the right place if your topic concerns different Nord Keyboards, you are not sure which one is the right one for you, etc.

Is there a Nord with just organ and synth (no piano module)?

Postby BuckW » 17 Jun 2017, 14:07

I'm probably going to buy the stage 3 but I already have the piano and e piano well covered with my Kurzweil MP10 but its organ and synth patches are quite limited.

I've checked out the Electro 5D, great organ but no synth.

Does Nord have an organ/synth line?

If not, I'll just go with the stage 3 compact.

Nope, no non-piano organ/synth combo boards, the Stage is the way to go.

That's what I was gathering probably not a big enough demand for such a line.

Thanks!

You can get a NS2 or 3 and not play the piano.

Or just a real synth, NL 2,2X, A1, Dave Smith etc...And an Hammond...or a Numa Organ...Will be cheaper than a stage 3...Not needing Piano sound and not completely using the ones in a Stage 2 or 3 seems a pity...

I expressed exactly the same desire in this thread.

I'd like to see a Lead/Organ combo without the piano. At a lower price point than the Stage.
73 waterfall keys w/ after touch and velocity
A1 synth engine (2 or 4 parts)
C2D organ engine with drawbars
Pitch and mod controls
Keyboard split/layer
Output routing
Lightweight

Probably not much of an audience for that though. But that would be the bee's knees for me.

Rusty Mike, if they made that machine you speced in your thread I'd buy that puppy TODAY and never look back. Got to have that waterfall keyboard, it's just smooth as butter. I've had two surgeries for radial nerve compression in my right arm so I need a soft keyboard and I've not found one better than Nord. I like weighted piano keyboards but they hurt me.

A Nord Stage without the piano section. Very interesting idea, especially as I have a plethora of Nord Pianos. A board with the "everything else". I wonder if Nord is thinking about such a thing?
I think I have gear issues ....

If they would do it, they would help other manufacturers of Good Piano only, Yamaha and Roland and Kawai to be Bought I addition of their "Electro/Synth"...No way to "force" customer to take piano coming with the Stage one...

Actually, that was what I was looking for when I owned a Nord Piano 88. Eventually replaced it for a Stage 2 HA88, but I use a second board with waterfall keys to play the Stage 2 organ and synth by MIDI.
It seems to be not such a bad idea to combine the organ and synth one board, since those two 'need' waterfall keys. Combining that with a Nord Piano 3 would be awesome IMO.

On the other hand, one could combine the Piano 3 with a Stage 3 compact.
Still thinking about my next step: Replace my Stage 2 HA 88 for a Stage 3 HA 88 and keep using a waterfall board with MIDI? Buy a Stage 3 compact on top of the Stage 2 HA88?
A Piano 3 and a Stage 3 compact is a bit to much money wise... :?
