Good seat for 2 tier stand?

Postby Blazerunner » 17 Jan 2018, 18:48

Hello fellow Norders,

I have my Electro 5 sitting comfortably on my 2nd Tier. I'm using an on stage Z-Stand. I'm curious what you guys are using for benches/stools if you're using a 2 tier. I was looking for something tall enough to play both the 1st and 2nd tear comfortably suggestions?

Drum thrones work well. Mine has a back rest, which is nice. I play two tier, although not with a Z-stand -- mine is more adjustable in height.
I think I have gear issues ....

cool, yeah I just got the Z stand because the Kronos 76 is heavy but I'm clumsy and it's harder to knock a board off especially with the little end locks on the 2nd tier. The Electro 5 sits nicely up there but I had to modify it a bit (drill more holes in it) to get it to clear the Kronos so I could work the menu for the 120 bucks or so it costs it's decent but I can see people having clearance problems on the 1st tier if you're using a touch screen based keyboard. The Downside is I'm having trouble finding a suitable seat/bench.

I just bought one of these. It wasn’t cheap, but I love it! There is a back rest available for purchase separately. There is a slot under the seat where it slides in.

I found the back rest attachment. I haven’t purchased this yet, but I’m seriously thinking about it.

The really nice thing about the the stool itself is that it is very height adjustable. I preferred to play standing up, but I can’t use both my feet with the pedals that way. With the stool, I can be mostly standing and have the use of both of my feet. It works really well so far and is very comfortable!

I have the same seat as Jonnie Cache, with the back rest. It’s heavy, and is the best seat I’ve ever used. The lighter ones are more convenient, but the K&M is far more sturdy, stable and comfortable. K&M makes great gear, worth the extra price. No, I don’t sell them or work for the company.

Neat seat. Wasn't aware of it. Sort of halfway between seated and standing, which I find appealing.

Maybe I'll get one just out of sheer curiosity. Thanks for the link!

I’ve been using Ikea Nilserik stools for decades on multikeyboard, single keyboard, right-angle, tiered, and Hammond setups.

It is my favourite keyboard seat ever.

It’s got a rounded bottom with a center detent, which drives some people crazy but which I love because (especially with right-angle setups, but even on a single board) you can lean it to where you need to be, PLUS (a real biggie for me) it keeps the lower back in motion and flexible.

Plus, they’re really cheap (45€).

Good seat for 2 tier stand?

This is absolutely the best out there. Each one is hand made of Italian leather in your choice of color, will hold well over 500lbs, and have incredible customer support with a LIFETIME warranty... I have been using one since 2006.
