I have had the NS EX88 for about 5 months and has been fine, however the organ section has been very quiet (even with full master vol, and full organ section vol). When i use the piano or synth section, they are fine and as normal but even the preset organ sounds are at this almost inaudible level!
Has anybody got any ideas what this may be? Or what i could try?
Many thanks, WG

Re: Organ section very quiet!!.... Please help!
Hi WG.
I assume that master level , organ level , and THE SLIDERS are up and working.
are ORGAN PRESETS in theprograms of factory setting almost inaudible as well?
If yes.....maybe if you are connected to computer , the organ section is receiving somehow some volume or expression data that maybe is affecting the volume.
try to disconnect midi or usb from computer before switching on the NS.
another solution could be to connect just usb , DON'T start your sequencer , save your settings with nord manager , then reset your NS tofactory settings and see what happens.
Hope it helps.

Sometimes I have the same strange behaviour, dunno why.
Bu initializing a new sound (ORGAN INIT) always gets me back to normal volume.
You might want to check if you used a PEDAL once as expression pedal or so, check the system menu maybe?!

Re: Organ section very quiet!!.... Please help!
Has anyone been able to resolve this? I have the same issue, just bought a used Nord Stage Compact 73 and the Organ section is about 15% of the piano and synth sections. I have already kept the master vol the same and switched b/w factory presets, ensured the drawbars and section vol were up and that all assignable volume and outputs were the same. Any suggestions?? I might have to send this back to the seller and hate to do that.

Hmm, indeed strange.
Are you sure it is not related (a) to the Swell/Control Pedal and (b) MIDI?
So do you have any MIDI wires connected? And/or a Control or Swell Pedal??In any case disconnect any pedals and MIDI and press the MIDI panic button.
And what happens if you crank up fully the Compressor, does it get better?
But in the worst case, I would send it back (since it would be covered by warranty).
If also you have the newest OS, maybe installed at least twice, then I see no other option!
Good luck!

Re: Organ section very quiet!!.... Please help!
I find that the organ section is too quiet in general on the Stage. (I use a stage classic, revision C I think).
Because the volume is so dependent on usage of draw bars, unless I'm using quite full on organ sounds, like playing rock, or playing shout music, the organ can be at maximum and be comparable to an EP or piano at half volume... which is a nightmare when you need to keep your sounds balanced in a gigging situation and you have to make your entire output pretty low.
I'm surprised that clavia did not give us a louder initial organ sound, when everything else was done so well ... does anyone else feel that this is an issue?

I've heard of people using the headphone jack to get more headroom at live gigs. They recommend using a stereo cable. I hear it works quite well but it still kinda sucks that we have to find workarounds for something that should have been discovered in the production.

Re: Organ section very quiet!!.... Please help!
I have noticed this too.
Generally I use an at least halfway distorted sound which is just about okay in volume levels.
But right now, what I am doing is sending all organ through outs 3&4 and just amplifying them in comparison to the other section s in the mixer. That way everything is good sounding.
Although I have to say, the NS is a quiet board overall. All of my gear out volumes it. Specially the M50. But its something I can live with, the organ sectino is IMO much better than the organ sounds on the M50, which I use for most bread and butter sounds, and for drum sequences.

Having the same problem.... Another workaround is programming the volume of the organ on 100%, and the volume to synth, external and pianos at 60% or so. And turn up the master volume of the Nord. But this solution sucks.
Does Clavia knows this?
