Hi all,
I was looking for a USB audio interface for home recording. What do you use?
AVID launched a C- series of USB audio interfces, the C400 and C600 (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/F ... kC400.html). It includes ProTools SE 9. Anyone has experience with them?

Re: Which USB audio interface?
Hello DrNeurus,
I use the MOTU UltraLite MK3
It didn't come with a recording software suite, I just use GB on Mac and Audacity on PC.
Not that this is entirely relevant, but I had originally purchased the Avid M-Box-Pro but had so many unresolved issues with it as to render it unusable.
Fortunately, I was able to return it to GC.
Hopefully another member will come along and give some more relevant input.
Cheers, Hanon

Everything will be all right in the end. If it's not all right, then it's not the end.

Re: Which USB audio interface?
I use a Zoom R-16 and have been very happy with it. It allows you to use it as a stand-alone recorder or as as an interface to your software - Very flexible. My advice before considering this device is to drop-in on their forum at http://zoomforum.us/viewforum.php?f=17 . They are very helpful over there
Cheers!
Cheers!

Re: Which USB audio interface?
I have two Motu Ultralite Mk3s! One at my home studio - for band rehearsal setup, my keyboard mixer and for recording purposes - and other as my personal monitor mixer on stage. I have no complaints. Before I purchased my second Ultralite I tried to find alternatives. After quite a long search, I went to buy it again. IMO it's so versatile in its very compact size and reasonable prize. With my mac setup, I remember only one problem with it: USB isn't as liable as its FW. It's not a big deal for myself, I only use it with FW.
If I am right, MOTU is one of the oldest sound card manufacturer for Mac. And it's still very much Mac oriented brand. So I am not sure, how well does it perform in PC platform...? Any experiences about that?

Hello,
I have a M-audio Fast Track Pro and I use Cubase to record. It is working fine so far. Sometimes I have some troubles to export the project in audio files, but I assume it is due to my computer limitations.

Re: Which USB audio interface?
Hello,
I have a MOTU Microbook.
It's all software based, small & powerfull.
I plug a mic, a guitar and the Nord into it.
It works fine under Windows 7 ans osX.
I consider the buffer/latency to be ok for a USB sound card ( 2 x 4 ms ).
The SPDIF coaxial output works fine too.
