Re: Review of CPS Spacestation V.3
The sub helps when the volumes get a little out-of-hand. Had a situation last weekend. Everything was fine, until the guitar player decided to crank, and the the bass player decided to crank, and then the drummer went gonzo -- well, you know the rest of the story.
I was able to hold my own with the SSv3 and the B1200D sub. Barely, but I hung in there.
But I really wished I had brought my 4000w of Fulcrum Acoustic stage sound just to shut them all down Nothing like superior firepower to hold everyone else in line ...

A further question I have is whether it is advisable to add a subwoofer. The lower cut-off frequency of the SS v.3 seems to be 100 Hz which I assume will lead to a loss of base in the piano sounds. Does anyone have a recommendation?
That's where the roll-off starts -- it's not a cut-off by any means. Perfectly acceptable for many types of keyboard playing.
The only reason to get a sub is (a) you play bass-heavy riffs, or (b) you're looking for 3-5 dB boost from your rig. Both reasons apply in my situation, otherwise I'd save the $$$.

Re: Review of CPS Spacestation V.3
I ended up getting a SS last week for my Yamaha CP4.The first two demos I was able to take it out for were not so great. But when I used it on a large open stage in huge ballroom. It sounded much better. So I bought one. For the CP4 at least, I still prefer my speaker /preamp combo of the RCF TT08As & TT22As with the JMK Audio JM-110 di/pre that I've been using the last few years. It has a more detailed, hi-fidelty sound. But on certain gigs where the convenience factor trumps sonic concerns , the SS likely will be my main gigging choice.
I've been curious as to how the Nord Fazioli would sound with the SS, being it's such a different animal then the Yamaha CFX on the CP4. So last night in a 1000 seat concert hall I attended a rehearsal of an orchestra where the keyboard player was using the SS with his NE3HP. On the break, I went up on the large, open stage and played his keyboard for a few minutes. The Fazioli L really sounded great! !
Different then the Yamaha CP4 , maybe more open and airy sounding. Although I'd have to both side by side to be sure, but I heard enough to be very impressed with the way the SS made that Fazioli sample really breath. The sustain seemed better too. Also the piano didn't seem to thin out as dramatically on the higher end.
So now I wish I had my NP2 again.

I guess when it comes to keyboards, there's two kinds of remorse in this world: buyer's remorse, and seller's remorse -- often at different times with the same piece of gear.

Re: Review of CPS Spacestation V.3
SS3 arrived last week. I've been experimenting with various pianos on NS2, amp positioning, using an A&H Zed10FX mixer and QSC K8 as volume reinforcement... All good results in my home studio. I even used it as a 'sound system' for my daughter's outdoor graduation party. Guests were amused and intrigued with this 'funny black box'. I've got my first live gig with a VERY loud cover band at the end of the month. I plan on bringing the K8 (or a Behringer sub) for that extra boost. I'll report back with the results.

ain't that the truth! I once stumbled onto a Korg MS-10 for a VERY nice price, but sold it to pad the bank account one Christmas season when funds were running low. Quadrupled my investment when it sold, but wound up spending all that and a bit more to get one back again.

Re: Review of CPS Spacestation V.3
If anyone is in the LA area and interested - I have my SpaceStation v3 for sale. $650 cash with cover. Sorry but local pickup only. I am willing to meet part of the way if someone is coming from up North or San Diego area.
It's just over as month old and has yet to be taken outside my studio for a gig. I bought the unit directly from Aspen after taking 3 different amps of his out on 3 different gigs.
I still like it but could use the $$$ to put towards some high end Sennheiser phones and amp.
It has 40 minutes, at the most, playing time on it. The first week I had it, I did some A-Bing with my RCF TT08As & CP4. After that, it has sat in the corner of my studio with the cover on. So basically as brand new condition as it could possibly be.
Best to use my email for contact:

Thanks

Does anyone know if it's working in 220V and if it can be shipped in Europe?

I believe that Thomann is or will be selling them. Voltage should not be a problem.

Just got mine from Thomann to me in Norway - 220V version. Have just tried it a little in the house. Sound promising, so looking forward to test it with the rest of the band...
