gear to record music from nord to smartphone

Postby varignet » 30 Oct 2016, 22:50

Hi, I'm new to it, I'd like to record tracks played on my nord to a smartphone.

there are good sequencer apps available for android.

But I would need help figuring out what cables and boxes I would need to achieve this.

I also would like to be able to listen to prerecorded tracks whilst recording new ones so the smartphone would need to playback both the prerecorded and recording track.

can you please help me?

many thanks

Hi,

For apps, it seems that FL Studio is the most popular.

You would also need a way to connect your audio cables, something like the iRig UA, iRig HD-A or iRig 2.

I would just like to clarify that I have never tried out any of the iRigs or the FL Studio app. But doing a short research, it seems that the combination of FL Studio and iRig 2 seems most likely to work as you intend. Unfortunately this solution also means that you have to record in mono.

Thanks a lot, recording mono would be fine, however I've researched this a bit more and recording on android is probably not a good idea, it seems audio latency will cause issues. I have an old and dying ipad second gen which might be better suited but it's dying so no no.

never mind I discovered the beautiful world of multiyrack recorders
