Footswitch for the Rotary Effect

Postby Chancerino » 02 May 2017, 12:37

Good day to you Nord Users.

Lately I experimented Boss FS-5 https://www.thomann.de/ro/boss_fs5u.htm ... arch_prv_5 for switching between SLOW/FAST effect on the organ section on the Nord Stage 2, and it's kinda working, but sometimes it does not register the click, it does act like I am pressing twice. It doesn't feel secure. I was clicking the pedal with my bare foot, maybe it would work better with a solid shoe. I was wondering if there's any problem with the Boss FS-5U (but I do not think so), or simply its not meant to work with the Nord??

I am willing to try https://www.thomann.de/ro/lead_foot_fs_ ... h_260691_1 the Lead Foot FS-1 because it's cheap and I only need a simple and effective switch. :geek:
:thanks: for checking my post out.

FWIW I've experienced that problem with a couple of foot switches in the past. I'm using a vent these days so its no longer an issue for me but I'd suspect the problem is not your lack of footwear (and obviously theres an easy way to test that ;-)). If you're shopping for a new one try it our first or check the returns policy as like i say, i'm sure i experienced it with more than one pedal. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I use a Yamaha FC-5 for rotary slow/fast. Menu-setting 'toggle'.
Works like a charm and costs something like € 25.

Isn't this more of a sustain pedal? I need it latching not momentary.
My problem is that the Boss pedal is not registering every click.

Hey. I'm kinda new around here and still learning.
I want to make myself a pedalboard soon and I want to make sure I get the best gear out there you could get for the NS2 and soon for NS3.

What do you mean by 'vent'?

Setting it in "toggle” mode will make the momentary switch work as a latch, try it.

PS: the 'vent'is the Ventilator (Leslie simulaion pedal effect)

Makes sense

I'm not near the Nord at the moment but having had a quick scan at the manual online (page 42) it looks like there are a couple of settings for the foot switch in the System menu. Definitely trying before buying another pedal!

I love the Ventilator but didn't buy it to specifically solve this problem so definitely overkill if you're happy with the Nord internal Leslie simulator.

Yea, I just found the setting in the menu for setting my sustain pedal as a switch for the slow/fast speed for the organ section.

Thanks!
