Hi,

I´ve bought me the iOS app "Set List Maker". I´ve created a setlist with this app and now I want to control my NS2ex via MIDI with this app. I heard it should be possible, to select a song on the list and the song selects the fitting programm on the NS.

Has anybody try this?

Where can i see the MIDI parameter/program number in the NS, which must be set in the SLM app?

I use this sheet for my NS2HA88. I'm not sure if it works for the NS3.
It converts the BANK/Program from the nord to a program change number.

+1 on the list. But first, you have to create Midi Devices in the setting, one device for each external monule/Synth you have, with a different Midi Channel...Then you create a midi preset for each song and you enter the program changes in the list. Then you attach it to the song....I know it seems a little bit confusing and time consuming but when you have done it, it's a breeze...

For example: I have a sound.."Song1" on my NS2ex at Bank D, Programm 1...what should I do in the APP?

- Creating a midi device -> I only want to steer my Nord, so there is only one, right?
- Creating a MIDI preset for each song -> I had to create for each song an own preset? "Song1" -> Preset Song1..?!
- Attaching to the song -> I had to attach the MIDI preset to the fitting song -> Preset Song 1 to Song 1 (for example)?

The way it works is that you create a preset for that sound - if you want to call it "Song 1, Sound 1", go ahead. I call them something easily identifiable, such as "Jump horns" or "piano + brass upper" or "dirty organ" or so, as i tend to reuse sounds across different songs.

You tie each of those presets to a sound on the Nord, and then you add them to the individual sheets in SLM.

I added buttons to the bottom edge of the set layout in SLM so Incan switch back and forth between several patches per song.

Next to that, you have to know if your iPad is connected through USB to the NS (Camera connection kit cable) or using a midi interface (for example the iConnect Midi series). You have to configure a MIDI channel (MIDI DIN or USB). Then add a midi device in SLM and provide the configured MIDI channel.

Hm, I´ve tried it, but nothing happened .

1.) Midi Device created
2.) Preset for song created
3.) Preset attached to the song
4.) iPad connected via camera connection kit (usb to midi), midi connected to nord

I´ve tried it with "midi learn" in the setlist app.

For example: If i want to programm the parameters: how does it work in my example:

Bank D, Song 1

When you create any midi device, you have to have the ipad connected, then, set list maker will ask you to choose your midi port as the one for your device and then you have another drop down menu to select the midis channel.
Then, you need to go back as a sort of refresh to get the new settings going....

Next things, type on the help button, the question mark and it will give you the choice to send a request to Arlo Leech, the developer, he's very good at helping his customers....then you will have a number and usually within one day you have your solution...
